National Preparedness Month is recognized nationwide every September to promote family and community disaster planning now and throughout the year.
This year’s theme, “Start a Conversation” emphasizes on the importance of talking about how to plan for a disaster. We may think we're protecting the people we love by avoiding these conversations, but they are important to start taking steps to get ready and stay safe.
Residents are strongly encouraged to talk about your families emergency plan and have one ready for everyone in your household including your pets!
